Yeah, demonstrations baby! We must become more firm in our demands. Polite Discussions are not cutting it.
Gay Marriage is a CIVIL RIGHTS ISSUE. And civil rights cannot be successfully put to a public vote. It took
Lincoln's executive order to free the slaves, and something similar will need to free us.
California Proposition 8 Passes.
Unfortunately, along with the ecstacy of electing Barack Obama as our next president, the gay community has
been put down hard in California, negating their recent successful same sex marriages. It was a black election
day for the gay community, with anti-gay legislation passing in 4 states. The only solution to this madness
is for the President to enact an Executive Order ending ALL discrimination against gays. Every time anti-gay
laws are put up to a popular vote, we lose. It doesn't work. As when Lincoln ended slavery, discrimination against
us must be ended in the same way. The people cannot seem to bring themselves to vote for Civil Rights, unfortunate and sad,
but true.
Thousands of Gay Veterans Families Experience Discrimination & Hardship!
Gay retired military families and veterans cannot share their medical insurance and other benefits
with their partners and children, like straight vets can. This imposes great hardship on gay families. We have a long way
to go towards equality. Something needs to be done now! BARACK... LISTEN TO US AND FIX IT... PLEASE!!! (Comment in our BLOG) As of Feb. 4, 2008, the Domestic Partnership Law for same sex couples in Oregon is going into effect. The haters plan on challenging and appealing into infinity I suppose, but for now
we're good to go. There was no legislation against us in Oregon this election...a small victory.

anti-gay group pressure.) Anti Gay Marriage Groups Fail To Gather Enough Signatures in Oregon!
Anti-gay marriage groups in Oregon failed to gather enough signatures to stop two bills supporting gay families. The two bills passed by the legislature will go into law
January 1, 2008, and put into place domestic partnership rights nearly equal to marriage, plus make it illegal to discriminate against gays and lesbians in Oregon, in the work place, housing, etc.
The anti gay groups, largely supported by out of state anti gay marriage groups, were trying to put the measures on the ballot this November, but they failed to gather enough signatures. Way to go Oregonions!
You're beginning to "get it!" Since the Republicans have so over-played their gay marriage "hot button" issue, I believe people in this country are beginning to wize up to the hate mongering political tactics
designed to distract voters from the important issues.

Now even macho Mexico City has legalized Civil Unions! And here we sit,
the Victorian United States across the border, still hanging on to the antiquated idea
that homosexuals are "Sinners." We simply can't wait for the Democrats to win the Presidential election
in 2008.

Look at the transcript at CNN.com of his interview on Larry King on Feb. 14, 2007. When Larry asked him about being Pro-Gay, he
backpedaled so he'd look more like a Republican, and said point blank that IF TOO MANY STATES ACTED LIKE MASSACHUSETTS, THEN
HE WOULD SUPPORT AN ANTI-GAY MARRIAGE U.S. CONSTITUTIONAL AMMENDMENT! What an ASS! He said he supports some kind of "Domestic Partnership", he wouldn't even say "Civil Union". If he was elected as U.S. President, you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between him and Bush on Gay issues. The Republicans HATE GAYS... AND IF THEY DON'T, YOU COULD FOOL ME! Rudy Giuliani is a Republican, don't let him trick you into voting for him, because he WOULD NOT HELP THE GAY AND LESBIAN CAUSE! DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES ALL THE WAY IN 2008, BABY!

The Democrats have enormously more power now after the 2006 midterm elections. Democrats now control both the
House and Senate in the U.S. Congress. Obviously, this has to be a good thing for gays and lesbians.
The only thing better would be a Democratic President in 2008! So hold your Democratic lesgislators to the fire. They MUST accomplish
what the public expects after the election, or Democrats will be out on their ears again in 2008. Tell them what you want, let them know
when they're getting lazy. This relates to not only gay issues, but everything else! Helping the middle class with affordable health care and a lower cost of living, higher wages, etc.

We need a Democratic party President in 2008. As long as republicans run the show, we will only see things get worse for us. We and the environment need the Democrats to be in power, not

I believe him. It's too bad more people didn't believe him in 2000. Apparently, both Ireland and Italy now allow gay marriage! So with the conservative, fanatically religious republicans in power... WE WILL NEVER, I SAID NEVER, have gay marriage in this country. The voting margain in last 2 presidential elections has been slim, so if gays and lesbians just get involved, we should be able to tip the scales in the Democrats favor.
Democrats are not perfect, but they are SOOOOO much better for us than republicans. Vote Democratic straight across your local ballot also so we can give a Democratic president the power he or she needs to get things done the right way. We need the Log Cabin Republicans to change political parties, how in the world can gay activists be republicans anyway?!

Canada Approves Same-sex Marriage!
In a bold move on June 28, 2005, Parliament passed a law legalizing same-sex civil marriage.
Our northern friends have shown us the way. They also have a very low crime rate. I think we have
a lot to learn from Canada, and it's a great slap in Bush's face. We also believe that Bush and
our Legislators, and his cabinet, should all have one if their relatives join as enlisted recruits,
and fight in the war in Iraq. Then, and only then, should we continue the war in Iraq.
